I have that feeling to some degree all the time, and not just series. I have my favorite authors and I get peeved if they don't churn them out quickly enough, so I must remind myself that writing a good story requires a monumental effort, and sometimes I find a new favorite author during the lag. After July, I can cross Harry Potter off my list for good. And KV's gone now, of course.
