I'm no fan of Al Gore, or George Bush for that matter, but the politicization of this issue has reached darkly humorous proportions. And here's the dirty little not-so-secret secret: It's too late, and has been for quite a long time. If everyone on earth went completely green from this moment forward, those ice sheets are still going to melt.

The only political party that accepts the reality of this is the Libertarian Party. They're not exactly at the top of the political heap, so you don't hear much about it, but included in their platform are forward-thinking plans to prepare for the negative effects of global warming before they happen.

Would that it were.
