The SEC is terrible. That's why Florida didn't win the National Championship.

While USC gets a fair amount of love (in football only, by the way), all teams in all sports in all cities that don't rhyme with POO DORK, SCHMOSTON or CRAPADELPHIA always have to take a back seat.

For college football, it's always the Big 10 and Notre Dame first, Big 12 next and then the national media intermittently pays attention to the other conferences (USC and the Florida schools excepted). I've also noticed that SEC fans think enough of their own schools to more than cover the lack of attention they may receive in the media. But, really, if there was one more day of coverage of the Alabama-Saban saga, I would have broken my television.
