3) IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE FIRST STEP IT TO DO RESEARCH, AFTER THAT YOU ORGANIZE YOUR TEXT. ABOUT THE SEARCH ENGINES YOU’VE MENTIONED IT’S NOT CLEAR WHEN YOU SAY ‘JUST Click THE MOUSE AND...” I BELIeVE YOU’D BETTER EXPLAIN THAT THERE ARE LOTS OF SITES TO GO, ETC..., ETC... OK!

4) SINCE YOUR ESSAY IS ABOUT ACADEMIC WRITING MAYBE IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA IF YOU EXPLAINED THAT THE RULES FOR THIS TYPE OF TEXT INCLUDE: DOUBLE SPACES, etc... etc...

5) I DID NOT UNDERSTAND YOUR CONCLUSION, IT SHOULD DEAL WITH THE TECHNIQUES OF WRITING an ESSAy.

APARECIDA

Joan has been sitting in front of the computer all day long. She has been trying to write an essay assigned by her teacher the day before, and that will due on the next day. It was the first time she was using the computer to write an essay. Up to now she has been writing her academic papers by using the old method, which was a pen and some sheets of paper. She was having a hard time, but she was willing to finish that task. After navigating (SURFING) on the Internet for some time, she finally found a site dedicated to teaching people the steps they should follow to write an academic essay.
The first step is to brainstorming. After someone has chosen the topic what to write about, he or she should turn off the computer screen and type on the keyboard as many words it comes into his or her mind. ( !)
The next step deals with the text itself. After selecting the words written during the brainstorming. People will organize their text in an introduction, development and conclusion. Type the text and click the mouse on the save icon. By doing so, (2) one can not run the risk to lose his or her text. When people type their text on the computer. They can make any change they want. Someone can add new ideas, delete others and move some sentences that were not properly placed in one of the paragraphs.
(3) The third step is to do the research. The computer offers an extremely helpful tool called The Internet. As a research tool the Web is becoming indispensable. Thus, just click on the mouse and type some words like www.alltheweb.com, then click on enter to have access to all the information on the subject one is writing about. Goggle (www.goole.com), alltheweb, Altavista and Yahoo are some of the search engines that someone can count on. They work in a different way from each other and so are the results one can get from them. When possible it is advisable to use more than one search engine. For academic research, people should go to The Search Portfolio page as well as to the www.erin.utoronto.ca/library/utml/common/selectedsites/ (MacDonald & Seel).
The fourth step it to correct your text by using the spell and grammar check. When writing without the help of the computer, people must have plenty of time to spend looking for the right spelling of the words in a dictionary, and for the correct sentence structure in grammar books. With the programs presented by the computer you can do a spelling check by just clicking on the icon tools and then one more click on the word and grammar check, another source for grammar check, is that someone can get on the internet to have access to a vast number of sites that will help in this matter.
(4) The fifth step is to do the text layout. When doing the layout, someone can insert double space between the lines, put the words in boldface and italic, and can make the font of his or her text bigger or smaller. These are techniques easier(THESE TECHNIQUES ARE EASIER TO BE DONE) to be done in the computer. People may argue that it is exceptionally difficult to deal with too many tools, that they might make many mistakes and that it will take them longer to write their essays. Writing with the help of the computer for the first time may seem awkward, but after doing it for a few times it becomes an extremely easy task. It is just a matter of practicing, and it will save people an enormous amount of time. As the old proverb says: “Practice makes it perfect.”
5.The last paragraph is the conclusion. On this paragraph people should rewrite about the importance of those steps in a short way and point it out the enormous amount of time individuals will save by writing their essays with the help of a computer.
