USING THE COMPUTER TO WRITE AN ESSAY

Students should only use computers to write academic papers. They are great organizers; on the computer one can create as many files he/she wants to store ideas, researches, outlines, free writings and drafts, and later incorporate them on the official essay.
Moreover, computers offer a great device called word processor. Type the text there and click the mouse on the save icon. Therefore, one cannot run the risk to lose his/her text. At the word processor people can make any change they want. Someone can add new ideas, delete others and move some sentences that were not properly placed in one of the paragraphs. On the word processing program individuals can find all the necessary devices required to write an essay according to academic society. Doing the layout, giving double space between the lines, putting words in boldface and italic, and making the font bigger or smaller, are techniques easier to be done in the computer.
Furthermore, there is no better tool to do research. Computers present an extremely helpful apparatus called The Internet. As a research tool the Web is becoming indispensable. A twenty-four hour access to research is extremely helpful when someone needs to develop and to enhance his or her text. It is a convenient device, and it has many advantages. One of them is that one does not have to leave his/her seat to look for the necessary information, and can have access to it at any day of the week and at any time.
In addition, computers can provide a program to correct the spell and grammar mistakes. When writing without the help of the computer, people must have plenty of time to spend looking for the right spelling of the words in a dictionary, and for the correct sentence structure in grammar books. Thus to correct word SPELLING people just have to do one click on the mouse, and to correct grammar errors, someone can get on the internet to have access to a vast number of sites that will help in this matter.
People cannot get inspired when typing on a keyboard. “It is totally mechanical”, they say. Therefore, they would rather write on a piece of paper than on a computer keyboard. They also argue that the computer is not the best device for someone to do a good academic work that it is exceptionally difficult to deal with too many tools, so they might make many mistakes and it will take them longer to write their essays. If someone presses the wrong key, he/she might lose all the written text.
Even though a great deal of people can give some excuses, like the ones above, for not using the computer to write their essays, the majority of the people will agree that when it comes to write an academic paper one can not count with a better device. It does the research, correct grammar and word spellING mistakes and it provides all the necessary tools to fulfill the requirements of the academic society for writing an essay.
