It was as if she had heard a sirens call, her head lifted and her eyes narrowed. Had she been able to, she would have sprung up from the couch to go searching out the source of the song but as it was, it took a few moments to push herself awkwardly up out of the couch, only to sit back down when her mate came and knelt beside her. Tipping her head, she looked inquisitively down at the stone, listening to the song it was singing. It was a delicate and harmonious song but it wasn't exactly what she had just heard. She could have sworn she had just heard the perfect tones of her necklace, so familiar and comforting to her. Her eyes lifted for a brief moment to look at Durgan, suddenly realizing that the other man must have the necklace now, holding it until Evie hit her season and wouldn't be allowed to change. Her brow furrowed and her small lower lip jutted out in a pout, it hurt her to think of her necklace - passed to her from her mother - on someone elses neck. Trying to convince herself that it was all for the good of Evie's well being, she focused back down on the saphire that her mate was presenting to her, swallowing heavily to push back the longing she was feeling. "It's beautiful, Dane..." She murmured softly, letting her fingers brush against the cool stone, feeling it warm to her touch. The only jewel she had was the red ruby that he had given to her when she was in her own season and she cherished that greatly. Taking the stone from his hand, she fingered it for a few long moments, listening to it sing to her. While she was doing that, Durgan disappeared to take the necklace to his own lair, where Bree wouldn't be able to hear it's tempting song any longer. It was obvious when she stopped hearing it because she grew more relaxed and more enchanted with the pretty stone that Dane had given to her. Smiling warmly, she leaned down to press a kiss to his cheek, her eyes closing for a brief moment as she inhaled the masculine scent of him so close to her. Closing her eyes, she wrapped her fist around the sapphire and sent it to where she kept the other ruby, letting the pair of gems sing to each other. "Thank you." He'd made being in the presence of the necklace and it's gems so much easier but distracting her with another gem's song.
