Nodding a touch, he let out a soft breath and then took a step back once more, finally, teasingly winking at her to lighten up the mood. "Och, donnae looked so shell shocked lassie. Ye kenned this day would come. I am nay made to be a follower, aye?" Reaching over, he tousled her hair in a way that he knew she hated before he smirked again. "Ye better hope yer feathers donnae come in the exact shade of yer hair. Ye'd clash horribly then." Ducking before he could get swatted, he laughed once more and then nodded again. "Aye, tis a sound plan ye have. Give me a call tomorrow or come by the barracks, aye? Stay away from the soldiers though." He knew how the men would hoot and hollar at any female and he wouldn't stand for Anya being degraded like that. When she did decide to take a mate, it would be one who would fully respect and honor her and until that day, she would remain as innocent and pure as he could possible keep her. One hand shifted to his pocket, pulling out a small, perfectly round orange seed. Since she had such an affinity for growing things, and him, such a distinct ability to spot things miles away and observe anything out of place in the ground, they had long ago begun the habit of him bringing her different seeds he found while out exploring. She could then make it grow and they would speculate on the flower or plant that grew out of it. Most of the time it was something common - heather, sunflowers, tulips, that sort of thing - but others it was something exotic or different than anything they had seen before. "I almost forgot, I found this out by the stream yesterday. It didnae look like anything we'd had before." Shrugging a touch, he placed it in her palm and then pulled back. "I should go before they discover me missing and I have hell to pay for it. Think on what I have said, aye, but donnae let it ruin yer day." It was easy for him to say that but who knew how much serious thought she would give it. Most of him was expecting her to just tell him that he was crazy and she was staying right where she was. It would probably be the intelligent decision but he just couldn't help but feeling that no one else could take care of her like he could. No one else could judge her moods, her needs, her desires...who else would be able to make sure she took the perfect mate?
