(He smiled softly as they walked, hand-in-hand, up the hill to its crest. He shook his head a little and continued walking past the point where they would have had to shift to make it out of the clearing.) Nay, I dinna mind a bit. (He said softly, and slipped his hand out of hers to put his arm around her instead. He pulled her close, letting her lean against him since he knew she was exhausted, he could practically feel her body trying to shut down on her. Speaking of the whelps made him smile wistfully as they walked, though he was definitely a lot quieter than she was. It wasn't that he didn't have anything to input, it was that he recognized the fact that she was offering of herself, and he wanted to listen to her. He liked the sound of her voice, and wanted to listen to her if only to hear that soft dulcet tone. But more than that, he realized that she was opening herself up and letting him see the turmoil that went through her mind. At least now she understood why he had been so angry to discover that she had been lied to about her heritage - and he definitely considered the omission on her parents part a lie. But he also understood what could drive parents to behave that way.) They obviously had nay other choice, Bree. They did what they had to do to protect the one bairn they were gauranteed to have. Ye were precious to them, and they protected ye the only way they kent how. If yer bairn's life were threatened, I think ye would do the same, lass. (He said, realizing the strength of the woman beside him. She would protect thei- her bairn at whatever cost necessary.. even isolation and omission. How could anyone destroy the chance for one bairn to live at the possibility of others? He turned his head and kissed her temple as he had before, his way of reassuring her. As they neared the keep, he let out a soft breath and looked up at his home.) I've had a room prepared for ye inside the keep.. though I should tell ye that nay another lives there but myself and my brother.
