I too grew up watching the Kennedy family. I was in first grade when JFK was assassinated. I was deeply saddened by the loss of JFK Jr. I had the occasion to see him on the New York City subway one evening on my way to a class. The subway car was almost empty. There were a few people. I recall a tall young man standing in his suit waiting to get off at the next stop. I remember him looking in my direction. He seemed familiar to me but since he seems much more slimmer in person than on TV and advertisements, I didn't realize until I got off the train that I had seen John F. Kennedy Jr. on my train.

I feel as if though I have lost a good life long friend and am having a hard time coming to terms with his demise. The other day, I walked by where he lived and was hit with a very deep sense of loss and a sense of not wanting to be here myself. I don't know why. I didn't know you John, but may God Bless and be with you John. I pray that you're with the angels at your father's side and in the loving company of your wife Carolyn and her sister. I'll miss knowing that I could run into you anywhere in New York. You made yourself a regular person and we cherished you for that. Love Carmen.
