Subject: Birds are getting into my bathroom exhaust vents

The last three years we have been dealing with some sort of birds getting in our bathroom and kitchen exhaust vents. I have watched the birds flip up the louvers on the vent and go right in. What can be done? There is also an unpleasant odor coming from the fan in one of our bathrooms.
