Bill,

I received your email and responded with information on this situation.

We have performed many bird exclusions in your subdivision and several on your street just this year. This noise you hear is coming from the train and causing something to rattle in the house, possibly a pipe, not a woodpecker. Most of the problems in your subdivision are from starlings getting into the vents. We can clean the vents and exclude the birds. Feel free to contact our office for an estimate. Since we have done several bird exclusions on your street, it would be a good idea for you to have your home bird proofed. The last homes to be bird proofed are the ones that get hit the hardest by birds since there are less vents for them to get into.
