Jakob was all he had in the world, and there was no saying no to him when he wanted his way. Jakob had turned it into an offer that could not be refused whether he wanted to or not. His choice had been to marry Fiona or watch as Jakob took Elanas life apart piece by piece, and he had the power and the friends that he would have been able to do it.
