Today had been her first day back at work. She'd gotten up bright and early at 5:30 am and had been gone till now, nearly 10:00 at night. She set the pile of notebooks and binders down on the counter, trying to be quiet in case he had gone to bed already. Despite looking as tired as she did she hadn't felt this good in a long time.
