When your 13 or 12(12 only if your a girl though becuase we a mature then boy lol) you get bar/bat mitzvad you read from the torah (old testament if your Christian I think) and its suppose to show your adult now. In temple after your bat mitvad you have to particpate more and expected to fast on holiday more responsibily really.

It cool cause you get lost of money from people, my favorite part. It also suppose to show detication.
