Deb is right, prunes are essentially in the first place a safe food, not too high in fat and on top of that it has a lot of fiber and vitamine K, vitamine K is necessary for your immunesystem among other stuff. So yes, prunes are definately good for you. Like Deb said, they are used as a natural laxative (especially prun use) I always recommend it to patients who are on medication that stagnate bowel movement instead of laxatives.
The most important difference between prunes as a laxative and chemical laxatives is that most chemical laxatives disable your body from taking in certain vitamines and prunes do not.

If you want to know: some prune juice in yoghurt is great, it is often used as a natural sweetener. I like to freeze prune juice and make ice popsickles (that is how you spell it in english right???)

Good luck with the prunes
