I believe that the first myth that you stated is actually true. I think that the whole thing is that you can't ever get all of it. I could be wrong since I have only purged a couple of times successfully. So my information may not be correct.

About the body eating it's own fat. I believe that this is also false. The body only starts to break down fats after it has broken down the carbs that it has stored (maybe even the proteins). I want to say that the fat breakdown is a last resort.

With your hair falling out even though you have calmed down with your ED...I would guess that you need to up your vitamin intake if you are not taking them already. It sounds like you are not getting enough nutrients.

Chocolate, Deb, and some of the others would know (for sure where I am guessing) what you could do about this and the answers to your questions. Congrats on calming down with your ED...I'm trying to keep mine under control right now...
