I understand that you are upset. But being African-American, I cannot respect you right now. There is no good reason to call anyone a nigger and turn around and say (in the same sentence) that you are not racist. That's like spitting in a Black person's face. I have come across a ton of racist white people that have had more than a few things to say to me, but that doesn not make it right for me to hate all white people everywhere. I don't use racial slurs on the board to express my dislike of people that I come into contact with on a regular basis and I would appreciate it if you did not either. I am not asking you to apologize or to leave the board or anything like that. I just wanted to express my opinions on your comments just as you expressed yours about Deb's. It really makes me sad that you would feel justified by a bad experience to use a word that is intended to rob people of their humanity and dignity. We all know a list of racial slurs that we can hurl at people, but there is enough going on in the world that we don't need to bring up an issue that we say doesn't apply to us in the first place. What is in your heart comes out of your mouth. So if you are truly not racist, you won't feel the need to say anything against any ethnic group that would identify you as racist.
