Family Affairs goes for flashbacks
Coronation Street never use them, EastEnders gives them a wide berth, while towards the end of its run, Brookside relied on them a lot.

The good old flashback may be employed all the time in Hollywood, but it's a rare thing to be seen in soapland these days.

However, upcoming editions of Family Affairs will rely on the story-telling device to keep the soap ticking over.

On Monday September 27, Trish admits to Eileen that she had been seeing Mike right up until his death and accuses Eileen of stealing her man away.

The drama will then cut back to Pete slapping Eileen and forcing himself on her in the first of many scenes which will make fans wonder if they're coming or going.

Things will finally settle down by the following Friday.

It's not the first time the Family Affairs crew have tried something different to keep the fans hooked. Their interactive episodes earlier this year broke new ground in British soaps.
