Subject: WHAT?! Look at this!!

I received this email about Student fees....

COMPULSORY STUDENT SERVICE FEES

As you may know, late last year the Federal Government passed legislation to abolish compulsory fees for student services and amenities for students who commence a new course after 1st July 2006. Payment of UTS service fees is compulsory for current students for 2006.

UTS Service Fees are used to provide a wide range of cultural, sporting and recreational facilities and activities. They are also used to support lower-cost food and beverages, retail outlets on campus, childcare, advice on University processes including hearings and appeals, and much more.

If you do not pay your service fees you will not be able to access your UTS computer account, including email and other UTS web services such as getting exam results or enrolling online. You will not be able to do subjects on UTS Online or use the computer labs on campus.

So please make sure you pay your UTS service fees for Autumn 2006 by the deadline of 24 February 2006 to ensure that all of the University`s facilities are available to you. If you attended a late enrolment session you have an additional 5 days to pay.

If you are an International student, Autumn semester Service Fees form a part of your standard semester fee, which were due on 15 February 2006.

If you have any questions about UTS service fees, or you have not received an invoice, contact the UTS Service Desk at https://servicedesk.uts.edu.au

Does this mean that we will keep paying fees until we graduate, and this in turn will be providing the Union services for these new people who don't have to pay??? 0_0...
Isn't that kinda like...UNFAIR!!!
