That's way cool Si, you should definately go to China and do some adventurous stuff! It is the year for adventure!!!

Why did I choose Thailand??? Well as of forever the two places I;ve wanted to go to most are Egypt and the UK. I knew I wasn't feeling ready to go to Egypt (plus a little afraid of the general sort of situation over there), and the UK would be WAY WAY to expensive. And ever since the start of the Indian/central asia archaeology unit I did last semester I've been pretty hung on going to India and SE Asia. So, India: ticket is too expensive and because there's SO SO much I want to see there it's also be a very expensive trip even though the dollar is great there. So....Thailand! Something different, different culture, wonderful scenery, great history, CHEAP, and also a bit of getting excited by all the people I know who've been there!!

Long term travel plan:
- 2005/06 Get job and SAVE SAVE SAVE
- End 2006: EGYPT and possibly UK if I have saved enough!!

I'm madly saving right now and this is what I;m doing, though I don't know if it'd help you Si cause it mainly relates to food shopping:

1. Buying veggies and fruit bulk when possible and from Springvale which is like a mini Asia in itself. Very cheap.
2. Pilching free vegies from the residents vegie garden.
3. Will start going to the free dinners on campus every Monday night.
4. When possible, eating cup of soup and a bit of vegies for lunch
5. NO BISCUITS. They are EXPENSIVE!!! Same for chocolate (sob)
6. Planning to do all forms of shopping/travel on as few days as possible so I spend less money on PT
7. Getting out a set amount of money for one week. If I run out too bad!
8. Rolled oats on my fruit and yoghurt in the morning instead of toasted muesli. May sound "so what?" but I love my toasted muesli.

Sorry I waffled!!
