I read the book Bat 6.I thought the book was good, but it wasn't the best book I have ever read.Bat 6 as about sixth-grade girls of Barlow and Bear Creek Ridge who have been waiting to play in the annual softball game. This year there is a new girl on each team with a secret in their past.On the Barlow team there is Aki who plays first base who is Japanese and on Bear Creek ridge there is Shazam who plays center field who is another culture too.At the Annual Softball game both teams were greeting each other and Aki happened to be first in line. When Aki and the first girl on the other team stuck their hands out to high-five eachother the other girl pulled her hand away so she didn't have to high-five her.I thought that had to do with prejudice.I think the authors message there was treat people the way you want to be treated.Just because they're another culture doesn't mean they're not nice.As the game went on there ends up being a collision and Aki gets hurt. The ambulance put her on a stretcher and took her to the hospital. She ended up having braces around her head so she couldn't move it.I enjoyed this book a lot.The author of this book is Virginia Euwer Wolff. It has 230 pages. If I rated this book from * to ***** stars I would rate it **** stars because it was kind of a boring book and didn't have a lot of action to make you not be able to put the book down.
