This was an interesting book that I enjoyed to the end. It was about a slave named Tom who was sold from his family because his master was in dept. Tom was raised to be religious and a good Christian, and always does the right thing, and never hurts anyone. He was first sold to a good master called Augustine St. Clare. He treated Tom like a friend and started trying to free Tom. But he was killed in a bar fight with a bowie knife when he attempted to seperate two drunk people that were fighting. He was then sold to Simon Legree, an abusive master who brutaly beat his slaves. He developes hatred to Tom's religion and Tom, and eventually beats him to death. Throughout his life Tom always spread hope to the slaves and stood up to evil.
