Subject: Touches of Northern Exposure

"Ed" reminds me of the former TV show "Northern Exposure" in many ways. The small town, the characters and the plots. The weather is better in Stuckeyville. In Northern Exposure, the writers tantalized us with a the possible romance of Joel and Maggie. It never happened and the series eventually lost some of its spark.

The writers of Ed are surely stringing us along. Carol is a beautiful women who most men would give their right arm to date, yet Ed, who really does want Carol, manages to resist the impulse to tell her how he truly feels.

Give me a break!

No guy has that much will-power. Quitting smoking would be easier than to resist Carol.

I know TV is supposed to make characters seem larger than life, but a little dose of reality is called for here.
