(She found that, despite her need to be independant, she really liked when he took control like this.. and it sort of shocked her. One of the major sticking points in their relationship before had been that she had been incapable of letting him take care of her. She'd been young, naive and fiercely independant.. but the assault had left her severely unbalanced and now that she was pregnant and nesting.. well, it felt damn good to have him tending to her. She could tell that he and Braden were close, just by the way that he was talking about his friend, and she found herself wondering about this Reese.. glad that there were people around at work that Skeeter found an escape with. That was important in their line of work, for sure. She tipped her head, smiling as she listened to him, her gaze wandering over him as he dished out their dinner.) Sounds to me like he needs someone like that. Who knows.. maybe it will be good for him.. he seemed so closed off when I met him. (She shrugged a little, dismissing her thoughts because.. well, they didn't really mean much and she didn't want to run into the possibility of bringing up bad memories now that they were enjoying each other's company again. She rubbed her hand over her stomach in a slow circle, nodding.) There are times when he'll start off fidgeting a little and then he'll just go at it for hours. (She had a feeling the kid was ADHD just like his father, sitting in there and shaking his foot or something.. it amused her to think of it that way.) He's started responding to different things as well, like the smell of food when he's hungry.. or different voices he knows.. or when mommy wants to sleep. (She laughed a little, shaking her head.. yes, he was definitely Justin Mallonoch's baby.. just a little bit of a troublemaker.)
