Subject: The Lord's Prayer

Good morning all you Mighty Men and Women of God.

Today is the last Saturday of our 4 week prayer assignment. I pray that each of you have been blessed during these Saturday morning times of refreshing.

The last prayer assignment I want to give each of you is the ability to pray the Lord's prayer I believe the way Christ intended. Remember, as He was giving this prayer to His disciples, they had an understanding of the things He was talking about because this was their culture. They had been with Him long enough to understand what He was telling them about this prayer.

I am going to break this down for you so you can spend the time needed to accomplish each area of the Lord's prayer. Many of you have already been taught this and maybe some of you have not. Hopefully this will bless you either way.

Have a great Saturday and a mighty weekend.

The Lord's Prayer.

Our Father who art in Heaven,
hallowed by thy name,

* This is praise and worship time. Take about 5-10 minutes here and just begin to thank God for His holiness and all that He is. God is known by many names and currently I don't have the list but when I do get it, I will post it and you can praise Him through each name, but for the meantime, just give Him glory and honor and thanksgiving. His is the name most high.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

* Here you are asking God for His perfect will to be done in your life and everyone around you including praying for the leadership of all our government officials and as well as asking for revival to fall. Again, take about 5-10 minutes here. Remember, the prayer is asking for His will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven. God's will is always being done in heaven. There is no sickenss, poverty, destruction, pain or sorrow in heaven. Jesus told us to ask that the Father's will be done here on earth. He would not have told us to ask for something that was impossible for God to do.

Give us the day our daily bread

* Here you are to ask for your personal and family needs. God wants you to be blessed and healed. Remember, Christ always associated healing with bread, so He wants you to walkin healing every day of your life. He made provision for it, "By His stripes we were healed."

And forgive us of our treaspasses as we forgive those who trespassed against us

* Now is the time to ask God to forgive us of all our sins. If you have unconfessed sin, now is the time to get it out and on the altar of forgivness. Also forgive anyone and everyone that has offended you at anytime in your life. Remember, Jesus said that if we don't forgive others, the Father will not forgive us. Take 5-10 minutes here. You may need to make a list!

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil

* This is time to ask God for divine delieverance and protection. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Another scripture tells us, the thief comes to kill, steal and destroy but I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantely. God definately wants us to be protected. Also read Psalm 91 out loud here also. Take another 5-10 minutes.

For thine is the kingdom and the glory forever.

* Again, you close out your prayer time with praise and worship. Thank God for hearing your prayers and thank Him in advance for all He is going to do for you. Another 5-10 minutes here.

Amen

* This word means that it is so, it will be done, no questions asked, trusting God that His word, will and everthing about Him is so.

That is it for our 4 weeks of prayer time. I hope this has blessed each of you. Let me know if this has been a blessing to you. I would also like to know how God is working in your life.
