Long ago, perhaps before even the founding of the world, the birds existed. The Hawk, The Sparrow and The Raven. Creatures of magic and power, they have clung onto life, unwilling to die. It is said that after finding the earth, the birds transformed into horses and so began the equine race, the most ancient of all animals. The birds did likewise with every animal in existence, transforming themselves into them, stabilising the population, and then, vanishing. The years passed and soon the creatures had forgotten the birds, all but the horses, who as the bird’s favourite creatures had been gifted with intelligence and speech, not even the creatures they had dubbed birds were so honoured. As time passed, even the equines began to forget, and soon, the birds were but a legend. There was a disagreement, about what is unrecorded, and all that is known is that the equines divided into three clans. After much waring and hate, the birds woke from their slumber and decided to get involved. Each had a different view on the situation and each sided with a different clan. The birds, though separated, didn’t want war for their creatures so they advised the currant leaders of each clan to move away from one another and leave it be, somehow all the birds had the same thought (some say it was no coincidence and that the birds could mind-speak to each other, and still can) and the three clans moved away from one another and became three provinces. The birds never left after that, they stayed as advisers to the lead. They also haven't aged in appearance, although their legendary powers seem to have disappeared.
