Sounds like they half intended to make use of it but never did. Thanks for drawing my attention to it though. In a few years I'll be releasing my own unofficial Zak sequel and if I remember I'll make sure I use that! It's exactly the kind of thing I'll want. I make commercial games, so I won't be able to use the main characters or names for copyright reasons, but I intend to use as many "bit part" characters and locations as I can, so that true fans will recognize it. They can't copyright Mount Rainier or monsters in jungle mazes. :)
