A heavy metal cage was brought in on a cart pulled by two large draft horses. Six men eyed the cage, their expressions wary. None wanted to be clawed by the creature within, and all knew what little good the whip did for the beast. But the master could not control him, and the best solution would be to sell him. One did not see a golden tiger every day, and the master suspected he could fetch a high price for the beast. Reluctantly, the men lifted the cage from the cart and transported it to the ground. But none was foolish enough to open it. The beast remained within, bars separating the humans from a creature bent on vengeance.

Amber-green eyes studied the men who were hefting his cage, on the alert for any opportunity to free himself. But the men feared him, and rightly so. He would readily tear a limb from its source if it would earn him his freedom. But he knew it would take more than the rending of flesh. And so he rested in the confines of his cage, feigning indifference, awaiting the opportune moment.

(Note: Brand is a golden tabby tiger, or a golden tiger, or a strawberry tiger, or any other of a number of names for the kind of tiger that...a pic would be easier. Suffice to say, his stripes are golden-brown, and he has sort of golden-tan fur, with white funky eyebrow markings and...argh. If you look it up, you'll see what I mean.)
