TAKE NOT, MUSIC FANS: I wouldn't get too excited about what
happened at this W.C.O.P.A. just yet.. the Music Inside Buzz
was sent an e-mail about a couple of interesting tidbits that
will be looked into and if there is any kind of truth to what
was being told to us a music investigation will be launch. It
already catches my attention for the fact that artists being
managed by both Boy Abunda and an ex-handled of Regine V. are
involve in participating with the yearly competition. >;-/

As expected, Filipino musical talents made everyone sit down and notice them at the just concluded 10th World Championships of the Performing Arts (WCOPA) held in Hollywood, California, participated in by 50 countries.
The Philippine representatives (headed by Jonalyn Viray and Brenan Espartinez of GMA Artists Center, led by Ms. Ida Henares) to the only Olympics of the Performing Arts in the world came home a few days ago with more than an armful of trophies and medals. They deserve a pat in the back for bringing honor and pride to the country. Last year, the same feat was achieved by the two representatives of the Philippines. Jed Madela and Rizza Navales, who won in almost all of the awards categories.
Jonalyn Viray brought home five Gold trophies that she won from the Senior Vocal Division in the following categories: Broadway, Original, Pop, R&b/Jazz and Variety Industry Award as Vocal Solo Champion.
Jonalyn was also given three plaques of appreciation for being Overall Champion Female Vocal Solo in the Broadway, Original and Pop categories.
Brenan Espartinez, another GMA artist, likewise earned five Golds from the following categories: Gospel, Pop, Original, R&B/Jazz, and Variety Industry Award for Overall Champion Male Vocal Solo.
Brenan also got four plaques for being Overall Champion in the Male Vocal Solo division for Gospel, Original, Pop, and Variety Industry.
In the Vocal Duet/Duet category, Jonalyn and Brenan won two golds in Pop and RB/Jazz; and one plaque as Overall Champion in this category for Pop, Gospel and Broadway.
In the Vocal Junior Division, Kim Flores who’s under the management of Boy Abunda’s Backroom, Inc., won four Golds for Broadway, Gospel, Original, Pop and Industry Award for Female Vocal Solo; and three plaques as Overall Champion Female Vocal Solo in the Broadway, Original, and Pop categories.
The Cercado Sisters likewise won four Golds in the Broadway, Gospel, Original, and Pop categories and one plaque as Overall Grand Champion in the Vocal Group for Pop.
Jennifer Bautista, who’s remembered for singing the Philippine national anthem during the second Manny Pacquiao-Eric Morales bout got two Golds in the Broadway and Rock categories; and one Bronze for R&B/Jazz and one plaque as the Industry Award Female Vocal Solo champion in the Broadway category.
Jon Joven, another GMA artist, won one Gold for Broadway; two Silvers for Pop and Opera and one Plaque for Overall Champion Male Vocal Solo for Broadway.
Other winners in the WCOPA were Dex de Rosa: three Golds for Broadway, pop, rock and Industry Award for Male Vocal Solo, and one Plaque for Overall Male Champion for Vocal Solo; Jeremie Antiporda: four Golds for Broadway, Contemporary, Original, and Pop; one Silver for R&B/Jazz and Industry Award, Female Vocal Solo; and one Plaqueas Overall Female Champion for Vocal Solo; Rachel Alejandro (it isn’t true that she didn’t pass the elimination round): one Gold for Rock; two Silvers for Contemporary and Original, and one Plaque as Overall Champion Female Vocal Solo for rock; Juaquin Tungol: two Golds for Contemporary and Gospel; two Silver for Broadway, one Bronze for Opera and a plaque for Industry Award as Male Vocal Solo; Bim Mangubat, one Silver: for Original; two Bronzes for Contemporary and Pop; Faith Cuneta and Rommel Luna, two medals each (details still to be confirmed); The Siblings, three Silvers for Original, R&B/Jazz .
