Black Pearl," rang up during its entire six-month run.

"Spider-Man 3" isn't due until next summer, but about 5,000 fans got
an early look at the film Saturday at Comic-Con, the country's
largest comic book convention.
Director Sam Raimi, producer Laura Ziskin and key members of the
cast — Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Topher Grace, Bryce Dallas
Howard and Thomas Haden Church — came to the San Diego Convention
Center to answer fan questions and unveil never-before-seen,
unfinished footage of the much-anticipated movie.
The brief teaser footage blended live-action scenes with animation
and computer graphics. It showed Sandman, a new villain played by
Church, and offered a quick glimpse of Venom, Peter Parker's spider-
like nemesis.
Raimi also revealed that Harry Osborn would become a third villain,
taking on some of the powers of his father, the Green Goblin, who
was killed in the first "Spider-Man" film.
Actor Bruce Campbell, a Raimi-film regular, also makes an appearance
in "Spider-Man 3," the director said. He'll play a new character,
who fans believe will be the villain Mysterio.

mmJun says: Just making a note that- My favorite SAM RAIMI movie was
EVIL DEAD 3. Don't go watching Evil Dead 1 or 2 if you aren't the
type to handle that kind of over-the-top grossness and insane bloody
flicks like no other.. but part 3 was pretty cool. hehe..
The movie starred Bruce Campbell! -mmJun

moments before the winner was announced, then clasped her hands to

"Superman" director sees sequel for 2009
Bryan Singer, who directed the current "Superman Returns," told fans
Friday at Comic-Con International, that he has had discussions with
Warner Bros. Pictures about directing a sequel for release in the
summer of 2009.
"Superman Returns," starring Brandon Routh as the Man of Steel, has
grossed $169 million domestically to date, a figure that has been
regarded by some observers as a disappointment given the movie's
production costs of more than $200 million.

WHAT A PUBLICIST IS REALLY SUPPOSE TO BE DOING -
The arrest of the bassist for Los Lonely Boys on allegations he
assaulted his fiancee was all a misunderstanding, the band's
publicist said Sunday.

Rod Steward Returns -
Rod Stewart is retiring his series of standards albums and returning
to the rock and roll of his roots.

Tom Petty's new album is a surprisingly moody affair. Showing a
growing disillusionment with the promise of freedom, "Highway
Companion," Petty's first solo effort in 12 years, is also his most
personal and heartfelt to date.

Christina Aguilera "Back" with ambitious album - While recording her
upcoming album "Back to Basics," a project inspired by music and
images from the '20s, '30s and '40s, Christina Aguilera had a secret
weapon -- bright red lipstick as shiny as a fire engine.
BAD TIMES
Aguilera's deep level of involvement in all facets of her career is
spurred by her own admitted workaholic tendencies ("I feel like I
always need to work," she says) and also borne from past bad
experiences. "The first record was an uphill battle for me, and I
really feel like I paid my dues on that first record. Being part of
a huge pop explosion, I was very pushed by the label to be, act,
dress a certain way, and it was tough."
While she may seem eager to distance herself stylistically from her
1999 self-titled debut now, the album did sell 12.5 million copies
worldwide, according to her label, and launched the teenager into
instant stardom via such songs as "Genie in a Bottle," "What a Girl
Wants" and "Come On Over (All I Want Is You)." She followed with "Mi
Reflejo," primarily a Spanish remake of her debut album, which sold
2.2 million copies worldwide.
Breaking away from the restraints she felt on her first album
informed 2002's "Stripped," where she says she was "stripping all
the elements I felt weren't me on that (first) record away." Through
the sexualized "Dirrty," rocker "Fighter," touching
ballad "Beautiful" and "I'm OK," which addressed growing up watching
her father abuse her mother, she unflinchingly expressed different
sides of her personality. Worldwide sales reached 9.5 million.
