Ok, predictions for this week? Here are mine:

Pole: Newman
Last: Have no idea...Could be anyone at the "Lady in Black!"
Hightest Rookie: Kahne
Cautions: 10
Leader of most laps: K. Kahne (though maybe I shouldn't say that... leading the most laps seems to be a curse for him. lol)

1st: Kasey Kahne
2nd: Kurt Busch
3rd: Jimmie Johnson
4th: Dale Jarrett
5th: Mark Martin

I would also look for Jeff Gordon and Jamie McMurray in the top ten somewhere... maybe Kenseth too if he doesn't blow up again. (lol) =0)

I've quit trying to predict races. I've realized this is one sport that there are too many variables you can't control. I'm hoping the racing stripes paint theme on Kasey's car this race will bring him good luck. I want to see him win a race so bad. I'm going to be crushed if he doesn't get a win this season. I agree with you saying that Kasey leading laps doesn't seem to go in his favor. LOL! I find myself holding my breath and praying that nothing will go wrong when he's leading for more than half the race. And then of course I cuss up a storm when something does go wrong and it costs him the win. I don't really believe in good luck charms, but I'm starting to think he needs one. LOL!

P.S. On "Totally Nascar" last night, Jeff Hammond said that he thought the fine and probation on Kasey and Harvick wasn't necessary. He said he thought that it had to be a prevention method of Nascar to help control the two of them from continuing their altercation to the next two races and it possibly hurting one of the teams in the Chase. I still think it's ridiculous. There was no indication that Kasey and Harvick were still mad and were going to continue the incident. If anything, I think they realized after it was over that it was just a misunderstanding. Just my 2 cents.

I am no good at it! LOL! But it's fun to try and then look back to see how close (or far off) you were. =0)

No Kidding!!! At least better luck than the Mopar one did!

I have quit fretting about this one. lol. It just seems funny to me now! Imagine, Kasey... one of NASCAR's "bad boys". ROFLOL! Though I've always had a thing for "bad boys"... hehehehehe

That is too funny! I have to admit that "bad boys" are really tempting too, but I've learned to try and resist! I'm 35 by the way. I love it that you set up this website! I was wanting to discuss Kasey with a more mature group too.

I'm relatively new to Nascar. I was searching the viewing guide one night and happened to check out Nascar 360 and after watching a few episodes I decided to watch a race. I can't remember which race was the first one I watched. I think I started watching the races in June. My sister and brother-in-law are big Nascar fans. My brother-in-law races his own stock car in a smaller division as a hobby, I don't know which one. Anyway, when I told my sister that I had actually started watching races, she immediately asked me who my favoirte driver was and which driver did I hate. I told her that I just started watching Nascar and I didn't know yet. Anyway, I do remember watching the Chicago race. It was probably the 3rd or 4th race I had watched. I found myself rooting for Kasey. I couldn't believe that a rookie could be that good. However, when Stewart put Kasey in the wall, I was hopping mad! I called my sister and told her that I hadn't picked a favorite driver yet, but I thought I had figured out which driver I didn't like. She asked me who and I told her Stewart and why. She told me, "Oh, that's just racing." I got real mad and told her, "On a RESTART!!! THAT'S BULL****!!! Anyway, I decided to take my time and carefully decide who I wanted to be my favorite driver. There are a lot of drivers I like. For a short time I thought my favorite would be Casey Mears, but something just didn't click with him to me. I started noticing that Kasey would seem to pass a car per lap and I loved watching him pass cars on the outside. I also liked how he conducted himself in interviews and with his fans. He seems to have a high work ethic and I like that. I guess since I was new to Nascar, I also liked picking a rookie. I felt that I could learn about Nascar by watching him learn.

I use to wonder how anyone could watch cars going around in circles. Boy, was I wrong! I think Nascar 360 helped me learn about some of the drivers. It's hard to watch a sport if you don't know anything about the players. Now I understand all the dynamics that go into winning a race. I swear, it seems to me that it about takes a miracle to win one!

I'm with you, I think Kasey will win multiple championships in his career. I love how focused he is and how is doesn't let his new found fame go to his head. I hope he stays grounded. I really think he'll be even better than Gordon. Actually, I started thinking that maybe Kasey was getting taken out by other drivers because they see him as a threat to them winning. Just a thought, it's probably not true....hmmm... ;0)

LOL! I should have sworn off them too! Then I might not be 24 and divorced! LOL! But life happens sometimes. You live and you learn. And I have a beautiful daughter to show for it! =0) So as you can tell, though I am a bit younger, I have little in common with most of the girls on the official board (except liking Kasey). So I thought maybe a board for the "adult" Kasey fans might be a good idea. Especially since there are several that used to be Bill Elliot fans and could care less about what Kasey looks like. hehehe

ROFLOL!! Too funny! I'm not a fan of Tony either. And that whole deal made me mad too! But I already didn't like Tony before that ever happened! Of course I've been watching NASCAR for a few years now.

Kasey is actually not my #1 favorite... lol. Dale Jarrett is. But DJ is 47 years old so it won't be too much longer before he retires. I figured I'd better find someone to pull for once he is gone. And Kasey really stood out to me. And, like you, I liked picking a rookie so that I could say I'd been there from the beginning. =0)

Amen! I was the same way though... Couldn't figure out for the life of me what would make someone want to sit for 4 hours and watch a bunch of "red necks" turn left at 200 mph! LOL! Goes to show you what I knew! Then I actually watched a race... OMG I was soooo hooked! DJ won that race by the way... he started like 30th and then won. I figured you have to be one hell of a driver to do that, so I started paying attention to him. And the more I watched him, and learned about him, the more I liked him. He will always be my favorite... but Kasey is a very close second.

Could be, but I doubt it. I am so not a conspiracy theorist.. LOL! I am usually the last person to believe stuff that I hear. Gotta do my "research" first. LOL! But hopefully NASCAR isn't THAT messed up! =0)

You are mature for your age. I would have guessed you were in your thirties. I mean that as a very high complement! I've never been married and don't have any children. I guess I've seen so much divorce that I'm afraid of marrying the wrong one or I'm just too independent...probably both. LOL! My biological clock is ringing a little, but I rather never have children than have them with the wrong man. I've seen so many children go through heartache after heartache due to a dead beat dad. I hope you are in a better situation.

I like DJ too! I like a lot of drivers, Kasey's just my favorite out of the bunch. I wish I had watched Nascar when Bill Elliot was racing full time. I really respect him for helping Kasey.

I've become a complete Nascar junkie! My whole weekend revolves around the races or I'm taping them if I'm out. I don't know what I'm going to do in 2 weeks when the the season is over. :( LOL!!! Hurry up season 2005!!!

I'm not a conspiracy theorist either by nature. I know it's mostly being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I just think it's odd that some of the best drivers seem to "accidentally" bump Kasey into the wall....LOL!!! ;0) Actually it might be a complement to Kasey if they are taking him out on purpose. I think it would be too funny that some of these drivers who have won so many races would be threatened by a rookie. Actually, Jimmy Johnson said after the 26th race that he feared Kasey the most if he had made the final 10. I think it's cool that Kasey has managed to earn respect from a lot of the drivers. However, I've noticed that most drivers drive cleanly and earn their win by being the best team. Of course, you are going to have a few bad apples in every sport, culture, etc.

Danggit! Shane Hmiel just took 2nd. Kasey's now 4th out of 37 in qualifying...still not bad! I'm impressed that he beat out some of the top truck drivers!

I think qualifying is over and Kasey is definitely starting 4th! Great job, Kasey!!!
