Kasey Kahne

STATESVILLE, N.C. (January 24, 2005) – Evernham Motorsports announced today a new partner for its growing enterprise – one that provides new strength and support.

Trus Joist, the leader in engineered lumber products, will be a primary sponsor of the No. 79 Busch Series Dodge Charger driven by Kasey Kahne on May 13 in Richmond, Virginia. It also will be an associate sponsor of EMS including appearances and endorsement by Kasey Kahne and Ray Evernham, primary and associate exposure on the No. 79 Busch car, exposure on the No. 79/No. 91 transporter and uniform exposure.

In addition, Trus Joist will be an associate sponsor of the No. 38 Great Clips Dodge Charger driven by Kasey Kahne and Tyler Walker including race car, transporter, pit box and uniform exposure. The No. 38 Dodge is campaigned by Akins Motorsports, which has a technology and marketing partnership with Evernham Motorsports.

“We’re excited to have a great company like Trus Joist join our team,” said Ray Evernham, president and CEO of Evernham Motorsports. “The builders and remodelers who rely on Trus Joist’s engineered lumber products on the job site are race fans who will now hopefully be cheering for Trus Joist Dodge on the weekends.”

I'm a little confused. I'm guessing when Kasey is driving the 79 in the Busch series, then Tyler Walker will be driving the 38 for Kasey. Let me know if you got something different from this. I know Evernham is starting a Busch team, but I didn't think Kasey would be driving for Evernham in Busch.
