Nancy -- this bulletin board and our Ratpack website are set up so that updated information about festivals, reunions, and performances can be shared in a central location. I guess everyone has not "gotten the word" yet. An update on my trip to see the Thaks in N'awlins is coming soon, and I plan to pass that info along to Joe W for the website updates. He's already got my photos (which were taken very far from the stage, due to the crowd). Nancy -- The event you heard on the radio for last Friday was the Surf Club's South Texas Walk of Fame (on Water Street, a weekend event, I think). Yes, it included the Thaks, Sammy Neely, & Pozo Seco, as honorees. The musicians also included Eben Wood who said that he would try to get photographs (the news media was there). Maybe we can get future information posted earlier. By the way, did everyone know that David Fore plays EVERY WEEKEND in Austin? If interested, please let him know and he'll add your name to the e-mail notices about his group, "The Eggmen" who play fantastic Beatles music. They are playing on June 7th (Tuesday) near the LBJ Library at 7:00 pm for a special event to commemorate the 60s music (Museum & Library), including a tribute to the Beatles (Hard Days Night film). Like I said, Davey has the details...wish I could be there for this historic event...
We need to get "the word" out more about this bulletin board and our Ratpack website. If anyone needs a current copy of our 60s database of e-mail addresses, etc, please let me know!
