Subject: Okay - conversation starter and curiosity :)

Since music seems to be the commonality we all share(d) I was curious as to how our musical tastes/preferences evolved over the last 20 - 30+ years. So I was wondering who your favorite artists/songs are at this point in time.

I will start and stick my always tenuous neck out - I love ALL music, essentially. I have special places in my heart, of course, for the music of my youth, but am not a big 'golden oldies' listener - sometimes, but not a steady diet. Right now I like the likes of Ray Willy Hubbard (maybe because he is as old as I am!), Robert Earl Keene, John Michael McMurtry, Marshal Mathers (yes THAT Marshal Mathers), Everclear, and Big n Rich, among many others. There is a band that Augy Meyers (remember Augy?) is with, for the LIFE of me can't recall the name right now, but they do some neat stuff - 'Ain't Gonna Be No Enchilada' or something like that, that gets me going! hahaha Anyhow bunches of others, of course, but I often wonder if a lot of what I like isn't regional or even local stuff that no one else gets to hear. Heck I even like Fat Joe's 'Lean Back' - find myself leanin' back all the time!!

But ya know, when I accidently run across someone playing 'House of the Rising Sun' or 'Back in the USSR' etc., I am real happy I did :)
