Subject: Urgent reply needed

I have 2 capes that I salt dried waiting for my krowtann to show up.
I salted after skinning then resalted the next day. They have been sitting salt dried for over a week now.
I am rehydrating them in cool water with some salt in it. They have been in the water now for about 5 hours and are still very hard in a lot of areas such as the incision and around the neck area. Is this normal? Should I just let them sit in the water overnight and tan tomm? Thanks in advance.
