Should be okay, I've had the same thing happen and if you had dirt and blood on your badger that's probably where you got the brown from. As far as the bactericide you shouldn't have to add any to a pickle, the pickle will kill any bacteria on the hide. I use bactericide in rehydarating solutions for salt dried hides and capes. Temps ... well I would say don't go lower than 50 degrees. what type of tan are you using? Good Luck! Asher
