Matt I leave the ear cartledge in,and just slid the ear liner behind it and run my glue allover the earliner brefore sliding inside the ear,put a little inside the ear so you have plenty and just squuze flat and staple with office stapler three rows dow the length of the ear from top of ear to bottom.Then when deer is dry remove staples then paint inner ear,this maybe old fashion but it works.My ears don't truly look thicker any either. Larry
