If you ever have a greasy place on your fur bearers, try rubbing sawdust into the greasy area and pull it around on a bench knife. If you don't have a bench knife, then any metal edge can work when used in a scraping manner. The sawdust helps to capture the grease as it is squeezed from the leather.

An easy bench knife can be made with a used hand saw attached to a homemade bench. The teeth of the saw can be ground off with a hand grinder and then the edge can be sharpened with wet stones. If anyone is interested, I can provide more info on the construction. The bench knife is great for breaking the leather in a taxidermy shop.
