Subject: you can try

When i first started, i called everyone, and no one wanted to take me on or show me how they do their work. after all, then you could be their future competition.

I then learned of a taxidermy show that was in my region, so i went to that and learned ALOT there. They had many seminars and you can talk to other taxidermists who are more open to helping you. The president was the most helpful and he would answer ALL of my questions that i emailed him. This years show they will have a hands on class on deer mounting. That show is held in Connecticut. Not sure where you are located.

So my suggestion to you is to find out where the closes show will be to you. Most states have a taxidermy association. In my area they have an association that covers new england states and also one in New York.

Don't bother with the locals. Go to a show!

post any and all questions on a site like this. you may or may not get an answer, but it doesn't hurt to ask. no one will yell at you on this website, so dont' worry.

Don't forget, you will make holes. I still make holes (I'm not an expert, i've only done deer). I will try a fox shortly. The deer support other things i want to try. start with an agerage skin. don't try something below average because then your finished mount will look below average.
