LAWS OF PROBABILITY

Try as you may, the material below has not been refuted. One can examine all sacred religiou writings and not one dare include prophecy (only God knows the beginning from the end). Only God's Word (The Bible) contain hundreds of prophecies, many fulfilled and many to be fulfilled. God has built into His Word proof positive that the Bible is indeed His Holy Word to mankind. Now if God provided this as means to enable mankind to know what is true and what its not, than go right ahead and beat your head against the wall trying to refute His proof. GOOD LUCK !!

There were more than 300 prophecies fulfilled in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. These are only 17. The following are the odds given to particular events in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ as foretold in the Old Testament 500 to more than 1000 years before they happened.

As you combine the events, the probabilities escalate tremendously when considering they were fulfilled in one person – the Lord Jesus Christ.

His birth in Bethlehem from the tribe of Judah. 1 chance in 2400 by itself.
750 BC (Before Christ) Micah 5:2, Genesis 49:10, Matthew 2:1

He would be preceded by a messenger. 1 chance in 20.
2 prophecies: 1 chance in 48,000.

760 BC Isaiah 40:3, Matthew 3:1,2

He would enter Jerusalem on a colt. 1 chance in 50.
3 prophecies: 1 chance in 2,400,000.

500 BC Zechariah 9:9, Luke 19:35-37

He would be betrayed by a friend (Judas) 1 chance in 10.
4 prophecies: 1 chance in 24,000,000.

1000 BC Psalm 41:9, Matthew 26:47,48

His hands and feet would be pierced (crucifixion) 1 chance in 100.
5 prophecies: 1 chance in 2.4 billion.

1000 BC Psalm 22:16, Luke 23:33

He would be wounded by his enemies. 1 chance in 10.
6 prophecies: 1 chance in 24 billion.

760 BC Isaiah 54:5, Matthew 27:26

His betrayal for 30 pieces of silver (Judas) 1 chance in 50.
7 prophecies: 1 chance in 1 trillion, 200 billion.

500 BC Zechariah 11:22, Matthew 26:15

He will be spit upon and beaten. 1 chance in 10.
8 prophecies: 1 chance in 12 trillion.

760 BC Isaiah 50:6, Matthew 26:67

His betrayal money would be thrown into the temple and then given to buy a potter’s field. 1 chance in 200.
9 prophecies: 1 chance in 2, 400 trillion.

500 BC Zechariah 11:13, Matthew 27: 5-7

He would be silent before his accusers. 1 chance in 100.
10 prophecies: 1 chance in 24,000 trillion.

760 BC Isaiah 53:7, Matthew 27: 12-14

He would be crucified. 1 chance in 100.
11 prophecies: 1 chance in 2,400,000 trillion.

760 BC Isaiah 53:12, Matthew 27:38

People would gamble for his garments. 1 chance in 100.
12 prophecies:

1000 BC Psalm 22:18, John 19:23, 24

His side would be pierced (crucifixion) 1 chance in 100.
500 BC Zechariah 12:10, John 19:34

None of his bones would be broken. 1 chance in 20.
1000 BC Psalm 34:20, John 19:33

His body would not decay (resurrection) 1 chance in 10,000.
1000 BC Psalm 16:10, Acts 2:31

His burial would be in a rich man’s tomb. 1 chance in 100.
760 BC Isaiah 53:9, Matthew 27:57-60

Upon his death, the darkness covering the earth. 1 chance in 1,000.
700 BC Amos 8:9, Matthew 27:45

Many of us play the lottery and at 12,500,000 to 1 we will bet a dollar or two – but how many would bet a weeks’ pay on such odds – I haven’t met one person.

The combined odds against only 17 of the more than 300 prophecies coming to pass in one person’s life (Jesus Christ) is equal to 1 chance in 480,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 or 1 chance in 480 billion x 1 billion x 1 trillion.

These odds are in my favor since I trust and believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for my sins (Amazing grace that saved a wretch like me). Your bucking these odds if you don’t believe and trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior – now that’s nuts!
