The pitch is direct. Your web site is crummy, and no one likes it. It brings in perhaps two customers a year, and one of them turns out to have been a drunk who just stumbled in.

All that is about to change, or at least it will seem to change. Once a real Google SEO expert has had the opportunity to muck with things, you can count on something.

The search engines may still show your web site on page 27 of the results, right after ``enlarge your penis'' and ``Chinese marketing expert''. But now at least you will have had the honor of paying an expert. You are now important, if somewhat poorer.

The biggest search engine is Google. The real experts all have Google Mail addresse:
