for those who mentioned being interested in kayaking, without experience:
Kayaking is more fun than rafting, but it also takes more experience/skill.. You have to learn to roll, balance, maneuver, etc., which takes a while. Let's stick with rafting, and if sledging turns out to be legit, we'll go with that.

I emailed that company for prices, and they said:
"We sledge most days at 12noon and return at 6pm. You have to be 16 years or over and need to be confident in the water. All you require is a swimsuit and towel and we provide all the rest of the equipment. It is $125pp.
We pick up from all hotels etc in the district.
We also offer rafting and if you choose to do both you can do our big combo of 2 rivers and 2 activities in one day- sledge and raft with lunch included for $185
In case you were wondering we are the sledging company featured in the amazing race."

that seems like a pretty decent price, considering the length of the trip, included transportation, and equipment rental.
