Subject: Another Dumb Question....

O.K., here's another dumb one from a newbie!

I've never used Carp before, but I went through the Install (had to use Manual) and everything went great. Actually much easier than I thought.

Now, it's not quite clear how to get feeds into my regular HTML web site. They give the following instruction after a successful install is verified:

copy the following code and paste it into a PHP page (a page whose filename ends with ".php"). To display newsfeeds in pages whose filenames end in ".html" or any other non-PHP extension, paste the following code into a new document whose name ends with ".php", and refer to the example code for converting RSS to JavaScript.

Change the URL on the line where "CarpCacheShow" is called to the URL of the feed you wish to display, and add any desired configuration settings where shown. For more information, please refer to the CaRP documentation.

require_once '/home/xxxxxx/carp/carp.php';
// Add any desired configuration settings below this line using "CarpConf" and other functions
CarpCacheShow('http://www.geckotribe.com/press/rss/pr.rss');
?>

I put xxxxx instead of my path. Anyway, where do you put this code, or file. Does the code go into your web page or does the file itself reside somewhere?

I know I'm close, but getting that final step is confusing.

Feeds that I like are XML. How do incorporate that with the carp scripts or files? Others are rss I guess.

I thought the install would be the tough part. Oh well..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Andyf
