The Little Miss South Carolina Pageant came to another successful end Saturday night with the crowning of seven winners from ages five and up during the week-long event.

The pageant, in its 36th year of existence, awarded more than $37,000 in scholarships this year to its contestants.

Two hundred contestants from across the Palmetto State converged on Hartsville competing in various categories, including photogenic, talent and beauty.

The Wee Miss, Little Miss,Young Miss, Young Miss Teen and Teen Miss groups were narrowed down, and they came back to compete for the finals on Saturday evening.

Little Miss South Carolina overall winner 2007 Sara Platt had the highest combined scores in all phases of competition for ages 5 and up.



In the Wee Miss division, fourth runner-up went to Wee Miss Tega Cay Lauren Bolden, third runner-up to Wee Miss Columbia Emery Brooks, second runner-up to Wee Miss Ware Shoals Ivory Baylor, first runner-up to Wee Miss Florence Kinsley Odom and the new Wee Miss South Carolina 2007 is Wee Miss Florence County Jade Edwards.

In the Little Miss division (ages 7-9) fourth runner-up went to Little Miss Irmo Carley Wolf, third runner-up to Little Miss Conway Hailey Pimental, second runner-up to Little Miss Lake City Gracen Parker, first runner-up to Little Miss Florence County Fallon Adams and the new Little Miss South Carolina 2007 is Little Miss Lancaster Kari Van Amerongen.

Wee Miss Ware Shoals Ivory Baylor did a patriotic melody for her talent on Friday. Baylor was second runner-up in the Wee Miss division.


In the Young Miss division (ages 10-12) fourth runner-up went to Young Miss Belton-Honea Path Haleigh Chappell, third runner-up to Young Miss Sumter, Summer Yoakum second runner-up to Young Miss Lake City Carsten Walker, and first runner-up to Young Miss Camden Sara Platt. Young Miss South Carolina 2007 is Young Miss Darlington Madison Phillips.

In the Young Miss Teen division (ages 13-15) fourth runner-up was Young Miss Teen Chesterfield County Katherine Fanning, third runner-up went to Young Miss Teen Florence County Lauren Cribb, second runner-up was Young Miss Teen Abbeville Alyssa Driver, first runner-up Young Miss Teen Camden Jade Lankford and Young Miss Teen South Carolina 2007 is Young Miss Teen Darlington Amber Sherrill.

In the Teen Miss division (ages 16-19) fourth runner-up was Teen Miss Laurence Manning Academy Holly Holliday; third runner-up was Teen Miss Fort Mill Carolina Wells, and second runner-up went to Teen Miss Tega Cay Katherine Brown, first runner-up Teen Miss Camden Sarah Hannah Newman and Teen Miss South Carolina 2007 is Teen Miss Lake Murray Sydney Lifchez.

South Carolina's Outstanding Teen 2007 is Teen Miss Camden Sarah Hannah Newman.

The overall talent winner was Young Miss Spartanburg Brooklyn Garrett who performed "And I Am Telling You" from the movie and Broadway play "Dreamgirls."

The Little Miss South Carolina overall sweetheart winner was Little Miss Lancaster Kari Van Amerongen.

Amerongen also won the overall black and white photogenic award.

Little Miss Florence County Fallon Adams won the overall color photogenic award.

Young Miss Spartanburg Brooklyn Garrett was named the Little Miss South Carolina overall talent winner as she brought down the house with her rendition of "And I Am Telling You" from the movie "Dreamgirls."


Young Miss Teen Manning Ceclia Wilson was awarded the Aimin’ High Community Service Scholarship. Emcee and former Miss South Carolina Janet Powers Roller won the Spirit of Pagentry Award.

The Little Miss South Carolina pageant also presented the Children's Hospital of Palmetto Health in Columbia with a check for $13,000.

The pageant has partnered with the hospital since 2002 and has presented it with $55,000 total during that time.

The Little Miss South Carolina pageant can be seen on ETV's the South Carolina Channel on Saturday, July 14, at 9 p.m. and Sunday, July 15, at 5 p.m.

Viewers may access ETV's South Carolina Channel with a digital television set, as well as through digital cable by Time Warner (802), Comporium (202), Charter Communications (115) and Comcast (192).
