POTTAR As I understand it, you are familiar with our defense technologies? ROCCO Yes, sir! MR. POTTAR Good. We need you to run the big gun. Strap yourself in at the terminal in the back, and press the big red button to initiate. ROCCO Yes, sir! Rocco jumps up and heads to the back of the ship. Starry is quick to follow. STARRY Why do you... How do you... What the...? ROCCO OK listen, I haven't been entirely straight with you these last few years, OK? But I have sworn to secrecy by my father and yours. STARRY I can't believe you knew. ROCCO I stumbled upon it one day. I was fooling around in our kitchen pantry, looking for something to eat, and I must have switched something on. The wall swung open, and there was this whole new room. It was filled with monitors and equipment - stuff not from this world! There were aliens on the monitors, Starry, can you believe it? Aliens! ROCCO Well for starters, watch this: Rocco sits down at the back terminal and straps himself in. He punches a big red button and a large panel slides away, revealing a round window to the space battle outside. The window has a computer overlay as well, with a targeting system and other data. Finally a hatch below the window opens up and a controller appears. The controller is very-much like that of the Playstation 2. ROCCO Remember "Reptoid Battles?" That game we used to play on Playstation for hours on end? Starry's eyes are lighting up in recognition. STARRY Yeah! ROCCO That was actually a training simulator for this: a Valhavenite X-Class Shuttle defense module. STARRY No wonder I could never find that game in the store! I looked for it everywhere! ROCCO No, it was only produced for Earth-bound Valhavenites to keep sharp on their skills. My parents let me have it in preparation. And I showed you, didn't I? See, I've exposed you to these secrets without you even knowing! The big guns is ready now, and enemy ships begin to appear in the window. Rocco is locked and loaded and begins open-firing on the Zeta crafts. His targeting device follows a particular Zeta ship as it darts back and forth, until finally it connects. BOOM! The ship explodes. STARRY Holy crap that was awesome! The boys give each other a high five. Rocco continues shooting and Mr. Hart and Mr. Pottar zip defensively through the dog fight. It's clear he isn't having much more success though, and Starry is growing frustrated. STARRY Let me try! ROCCO Dude, you can't... STARRY I used to kick your ass at that game, Rocco. I reached level 17. I was your squadron commander in the two-player version. Let me try! ROCCO Well, you were pretty good at that game. I don't remember you kicking my ass, but... STARRY Move over! Starry kicks Rocco out of the chair and grabs the controls. It's not long before he's got a hit. BOOM! Then another. BOOM! And another. BOOM! It's clear Starry has an unusual talent for this. BOOM! Mr. Hart and Mr. Pottar notice their enemy is thinning out. MR. POTTAR Good work, Rocco! Keep it up! Rocco appears behind Mr. Hart and Mr. Pottar at the front of the ship.
