Subject: Frenulum Breve - My urologist might not be qualified.

Hi everyone,

I am a 24 yr. old living in the U.S., in Florida. I am uncircumcised, and I have frenulum breve; a short frenulum which does not allow me to fully erect.

Mine is only a mild problem, but it has ripped in the past, during masturbation. It has never ripped during intercourse. I have noticed the problem since I was about 16, but never really gave much thought, and never heard anything about frenulum breve; so I never sought to solve it.

It has been bothering me for the past few years, and I decided to go for a frenectomy or frenuloplasty, although I am leaning towards a frenuloplasty. I went for a consultation with a urologist last week, and he said I might as well go for the circumcision, or to just remove the frenulum, depending on what I wanted to do. After I returned home I began my research, and was a bit bothered that the doctor recommended the circumcision, and that he did not even fully explain the problem with the frenulum. I called his office and asked a few questions, and he has not performed many frenuloplasties in the past.

I am concerned, and do not know how to go about finding a urologist who is experienced here in South Florida. Any help??? Should I just go with my urologist?
