I am a canadian library science student who will graduate next year from a MLIS program. I wish I could find a work in the US, ( I'd prefer working in the South or West - Florida, Texas, N/S Carolina, California, Arizona...). What the librarian labour market looks like across the border ? I heard a lot about a '' librarian shortage'', despite the fact that this shortage appears to be a debated subject among librarians themeselves. Do any of you know what the real perspectives are , and if there is a place for freshly graduates ? thanks

There is indeed quite a shortage of librarians in the US! Fresh librarians are welcomed from what I have seen, especially if you are a school librarian (as opposed to public).

I am an American, soon to graduate from Library College interested in working/living in Canada. Any insight as to the prospects where you are?
