I am a graduate of SLAIS program. I know, this is something our MAS colleagues were concerned about. MAS is not recognized in the US under TN1 for a librarian/archivist jobs. However, SLAIS has a joint MLIS/MAS program. This is an option many students consider. I was also enrolled in the joint program but got a job and applied for MLIS graduation and moved to the US. I took a lot of courses from MAS program for which I got credits for my MLIS. If you are a Canadian and planning to work in the US, I would recommend you to go for thier joint program if you really want to stay in archival field.
