I am a mature woman who is thinking of taking the Library Tech course at Seneca. It is an accelerated course so you have to have your degree to get in. In order to get funding, I have to research in order to determine whether or not the choice of library worker is a practical one with demand in the workplace. I am Canadian, of course, so was very interested to find your site and this forum. Could someone out there coverse with me and give me an idea of his/her experiences in obtaining employment, and the number of entry level opportunities available? This should fulfil some of the interview and research requirements as well as helping me make a final decision before commiting to the programme. I see in the title page that some of you have had trouble obtaining entry level employment. This must be even tougher for older workers. Perhaps I am wrong - .. I hope so.
