The Weekender is only a cash cow because they raise rates every year. A number of their current larger clients are not paying their bills. Ask anyone in the credit office. The Scranton Times would keep Electric City. Either way, the Weekender will probably be out of business in the next 2-3 years (or extrememly unprofitable). There's going to be a shakedown in the Wilkes-Barre market pretty soon. And, the Weekender never made money until the end of the 90s. As for the AM/PM question, the Times doesn't want to piss off people who subscribe exclusively to one paper right away. In 3-5 years, there will be one paper in WB and it probably won't be the TL.
